Ireland: Fur Farming review group recommend that it should be allowed to continue in operationDecember 2012The ISPCA is disappointed with the announcement today that a review of the fur farming industry, carried out for the Department of Agriculture, has recommended that it should be allowed to continue. The ISPCA is totally opposed to fur farming where the purpose is to produce non-essential luxury items. These animals are farmed intensely, in rows of small wire meshed cages 24 hours a day until they are killed. They will never experience natural behaviour. We appeal to the Minister to reconsider this recommendation and stop this cruel trade once and for all....
